IRPLAST CONFIRMS ITS COMMITMENT TO THE CIRCULAR ECONOMY

Innovation has been focused on replacing fossil raw materials with renewable resources and from chemical recycling.  All the films in IRPLAST’s portfolio can now be sourced in their ISCC PLUS certified version.

Florence (Italy) May 2023 – IRPLAST will be leading the way to sustainability at INTERPACK 2023, the processing & packaging fair which will be held in Düsseldorf from May 4th to 10th (Hall 8A – Stand B19), delivering on very serious commitments to innovation and sustainability. The environmental agenda of the company started with investments to enable down gauging film thickness and to reduce packaging material and to improve internal recycling. IRPLAST’s portfolio now includes ISCC certified films (International Sustainability & Carbon Certification): NOPP (Natural Oriented Polypropylene) from certified renewable feedstocks, NOPP+ from UCO (used cooking oil) and LOOPP, PCW-based polypropylene films in which fossil-fuel based resins are replaced by feedstocks from chemical recycling using the “mass balance” approach.

All the films in IRPLAST’s portfolio can now be sourced in their ISCC PLUS certified version. The identical technical properties of the films mean that brand owners and packaging suppliers can now use truly sustainable packaging solutions, which are immediately deployable, avoiding changing packaging appearance or packaging machinery, and without investment in machinery or processes. The Company has been awarded “Best Packaging 2022” in the category Ethical Packaging Charter with PREGLUED4CANS, a BOPP roll-fed label, with pre-applied adhesives with proprietary technology to decorate aluminium cans, tins, aerosol containers at 360°.
